Talk to Tiger!

Welcome to the Gab page, where you can write to Tiger and perhaps hear back from him. You need to provide your email address for this. Make sure it's okay with your parent, guardian, or otherwise bossy grownup in your life.

From time to time, Tiger will pose a question or two for you to ponder and, hopefully, respond to. This is what Tiger calls "research." For example:

If the bossy grownup in your life wouldn't let you have your dream pet, what would be the worst replacement pet imaginable that he or she would likely buy to stop your whining?

From Roxy:

Dear Tiger,
Recently I attended a play at which I heard the ticket taker use the term “rock solid”. I like it. I use it. That is how I would define this site.

From Katie Willard:

My vocabulary includes “flippin‘”, “sweet”, and “delightful”. You might hear me say “whoopdee-flippin’-doo” on any occasion. Kathy V. and I love to use the same language. So sue us.

From Julia Eclipse:

I use “sweet” more than anything else. I’m in my early twenties and have heard it as slang from my age-peers for about 8 years. I know a younger sibling and her friends say “tight” – it always catches me by surprise a bit, because in the 30s it was slang for “drunk”.

It was nice meeting you at the coffee house.

From Kathy Verzosa:

I use “nifty” on RARE occasion…. or “wee”…. that one comes from my baby sister. She likes to use it when she’s running away from me when I try to put her in time out.

From Namrata Tripathi:

Instead of “awesome” or “cool” I like to use “tight.” Unless there is someone more awesome and/or cooler than me in the room, in which case I feel too embarrassed to put on my “keepin' it real” front.

And funny coincidence—I too have a set of those electric curlers, but that’s because I tripped over them in the cabbage patch right after I was born…and decided to keep them.
